FoodWorks has been great for a lot of reasons. It has taught me to become much more articulate with regards to food issues, more experienced in the type of work I want to do, but most importantly it has opened a lot of doors. And I am not talking specifically about job opportunities. I am talking about connections with amazing people, people I hope to get to know better in the future. I have fallen in love with Kentucky, and would truly like to move back here after I graduate. And a big part of why I would like to do so is the community. Whether it be the farming community, the activist community, or the refugee community, I have met people that make me want to stay. I could see myself living here, and continuing my work with children, activism, and food accessibility. I intend to make that happen in the future.
